Volleyball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers vs. Mill Valley Jaguars
After flying high against Olathe South on Tuesday, Gardner-Edgerton came back down to earth. The Trailblazers lost 3-0 to the Mill Valley Jaguars on Thursday. The Trailblazers haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mill Valley scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.
Hayden Meats paced Gardner-Edgerton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Meats got some help from Emma Arel and her 13 assists. Charlee Latteman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Corinne Schwindt was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and two assists. Ellie Bain also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
Gardner-Edgerton's loss dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Mill Valley, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-4.
Gardner-Edgerton has already played their next matchup (against Washburn Rural), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mill Valley, they will take on De Soto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
