C2 Evans Turns in Season-Best Effort

C2 Evans produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Harker Heights to the win on Thursday. Evans rushed for 279 yards and three touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (112.5) per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

Temple had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Evans it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Evans saw the Wildcats), he rushed for 141 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.

Zeigler Came Up Big in Copperas Cove's 34-16 Win

Copperas Cove (362) came into Thursday's matchup against Midway (111) with a disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings, but Kj (Lejuandro) Zeigler wasn't bothered. Zeigler did his part (and then some), rushing for 169 yards and four touchdowns for the 'W'.

On the season, Zeigler has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 132.3 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.2 rushing yards per game.

Houston Martin Turns in Another Game with at Least Five Total Tackles

Sadly, Houston Martin posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Temple over Harker Heights on Thursday. Martin wasn't messing around, making 14 total tackles and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. The game was his fifth straight with five or more total tackles.

The loss snapped Temple's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record. Martin and Temple will square off against Duncanville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lezlie Jackson Dazzles in Temple Loss

Keeping Martin company is Lezlie Jackson, a fellow Temple player. He made 17 total tackles and defended a pass. He is on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in the last five games he's played.

Midway's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3. Whisenton and Midway will square off against Waxahachie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
