Baseball Recap: Anacoco Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Anacoco, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Pickering Red Devils get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Indians have beaten the Red Devils the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Devils has come to flipping the script.

Dylan Mayo and Caleb Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Mayo scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Taylor scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs Taylor has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyle Scott, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

Anacoco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Anacoco's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Pickering, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anacoco will challenge Northwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwood will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Anacoco surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pickering, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against East Beauregard at 6:00 p.m. East Beauregard has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.43 runs per game on average), something Pickering will no doubt try to take advantage of.
