Softball Recap: West-Oak Has No Trouble Against Pendleton

West-Oak's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Pendleton Bulldogs as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Warriors have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Abi Blackwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Blackwell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run.

In other batting news, Abigail Satterfield was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Teaguen Fant also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

West-Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

West-Oak pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pendleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West-Oak will square off against Crescent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pendleton, they will venture away from home to square off against T.L. Hanna at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
