Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines won the last time they faced Sage Creek and things went their way on Monday too. The Falcons came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 9-6. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Cullen Green and Ethan Shi were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Green didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Shi pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Green also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Torrey Pines is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. At the plate, Green got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Shi went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Hood, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Camden Nishnick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Torrey Pines kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
