Basketball Recap: Newport Has No Trouble Against Elmira

After losing to Elmira the last time they met, Newport decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Newport Cubs put the hurt on the Elmira Falcons with a sharp 67-46 victory on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cubs.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Elmira, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Newport will take on Junction City on Friday. As for Elmira, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sutherlin at 6:30 p.m.
