Basketball Game Preview: Pendleton Bulldogs vs. Madison County Red Raiders

The Pendleton Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Madison County Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton is looking for their season's first win.

Pendleton is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Franklin County on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Pendleton might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Franklin County an easy 58-33 victory.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Madison County on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Stephens County out of the water with a 61-30 final score. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Indians are ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madison County's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Pendleton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Pendleton took a serious blow against Madison County when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 79-34. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pendleton was down 42-20.
