Baseball Recap: Girard Triumphs

Girard won against Struthers on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Indians walked away with a 7-4 win over the Wildcats. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Will Hynes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Girard is 9-1 when Hynes posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Zach Ward was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Girard's record is now 13-8. As for Struthers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Girard will face off against South Range at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Struthers, they will square off against Jefferson Area at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
