Belleview suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Belleview Rattlers vs. Dunnellon Tigers

The Belleview Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They suffered a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Dunnellon. Belleview has not had much luck with Dunnellon recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Belleview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Al Johnson, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Jackson, who scored six points.

Leading Dunnellon to victory were Jamal Shaw and Jheven Ford. Shaw scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Ford scored 13 points. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Eli Nelson, who scored nine points.

Belleview bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Dunnellon, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Belleview won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Port at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Dunnellon, they will face off against Orange Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
