After flying high against Foothill Tech last Wednesday, Ventura came back down to earth. The contest between the Ventura Cougars and the San Marcos Royals didn't end well, with the Ventura Cougars falling 65-49. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jett Ryan, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points. Finn Fancher was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Ventura now has a losing record at 8-9. As for San Marcos, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Ventura has already played their next match, a 61-50 defeat against Rio Mesa on the 8th. As for San Marcos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-50 win against Dos Pueblos on the 8th.
