Basketball Recap: David Anderson Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the David Anderson Blue Devils were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-35 to the Liberty Leopards. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, David Anderson still got an impressive performance from Lylah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Brown has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emelia Cook, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, David Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

David Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Liberty, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-18.

David Anderson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mathews at 3:30 p.m. on February 15th. Liberty has already played their next game (against Southeast), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
