Baseball Recap: Las Vegas Finds Playoff Glory Versus Centennial

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Las Vegas walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Centennial Bulldogs 5-4. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 10, 2019.

The team relied heavily on TANNER VIBABUL, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. JUSTIN ROMERO was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Las Vegas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-14.

Looking ahead, Las Vegas will face off against Palo Verde at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
