The Harlan Green Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Harlan sitting on six straight wins and Hazard on three.
Harlan had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Jenkins on Wednesday. The Green Dragons were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Cavaliers. Considering the Green Dragons have won 12 games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordyn Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lisenbee, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Addison Jackson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Harlan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hazard was able to grind out a solid victory over Clay County on Tuesday, taking the game 4-1.
Kadence Stollings was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ragan Elkins, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Hazard's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Harlan, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harlan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Hazard struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
