Baseball Recap: Ironwood Find Success

Ironwood won the last time they faced Cactus and things went their way on Wednesday too. Ironwood walked away with a 7-2 victory over Cactus. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Sebastian Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Ostrom, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ironwood's record is now 3-7. As for Cactus, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Coming up, Ironwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Willow Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Canyon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Ironwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cactus, they have already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against Agua Fria on the 27th.
