Basketball Game Preview: Swink Lions vs. Cheyenne Wells Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Swink has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Cheyenne Wells will arrive with nine straight wins.

Swink is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against McClave on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Swink took a blow against McClave, falling 88-37. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cheyenne Wells beat Eads 51-45 on Friday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Eagles are ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cheyenne Wells' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Swink, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
