Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Blake Coleman and Luke Brown Lead Lemon Bay to Victory

Lemon Bay won the last time they faced DeSoto County and things went their way on Friday too. The Lemon Bay Manta Rays came out on top against the DeSoto County Bulldogs by a score of 59-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Manta Rays.

Lemon Bay was led to victory by Luke Brown and Blake Coleman. Brown almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Coleman posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Elias Gambrell, who scored six points and nine rebounds.

Lemon Bay's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for DeSoto County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lemon Bay will square off against Island Coast on Wednesday. Island Coast will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lemon Bay surely won't give up without a fight. DeSoto County has already played their next contest (against Cypress Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
