Recap: West Marion Trojans vs. Richton Rebels
On Thursday, West Marion suffered a rough 57-37 loss at the hands of Richton. While losing is never fun, West Marion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Richton is ranked 105th).
Dakota Amos was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Richton. The match was Amos' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dave Woulard, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Richton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Marion will be home for the holidays to greet Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richton will be home for the holidays to greet East Central at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. East Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
