Basketball Recap: Lamar Triumphs

Lamar hadn't done well against Haltom recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lamar Vikings slipped by the Haltom Buffalos 40-39. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 67-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Hroch, who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Hroch a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Dearmondrae Batie, who earned eight points along with eight boards and three steals.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Haltom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-35 loss against South Grand Prairie on the 3rd. Haltom has also already played their next contest, a 48-46 defeat against Grand Prairie on the 3rd.
