Baseball Recap: Calvary Chapel Comes Up Short

Calvary Chapel extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-13-1 in the process. They came up short against the Pacifica Christian Tritons, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-8 back in March.

As for Pacifica Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

For Pacifica Christian's part, Keegan DeMots was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits DeMots has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Blake Hayes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Calvary Chapel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-4 victory against Oxford Academy on the 19th. As for Pacifica Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-3 defeat against Temescal Canyon on the 21st.
