Softball Recap: New Site Royals vs. Tremont Eagles
In what's become a running theme this season, New Site gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tremont Eagles a 15-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for New Site as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kendall Reese looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (she also didn't allow any walks). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Elliot was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Avery Stevens, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
New Site's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Tremont, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
