Recap: Life Prep Fire vs. Grind Prep G.R.I.N.D

The Life Prep Fire's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 75-53 loss at the hands of Grind Prep. While losing is never fun, Life Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 53rd in Kansas, while Grind Prep is ranked seventh in Oklahoma).

When it comes to explaining why Life Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Arthur Videira. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Laterro Young, who scored nine points.

Life Prep has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Grind Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Life Prep is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Oklahoma City S at 2:30 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully Oklahoma City S focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Saturday. As for Grind Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Dynamic Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Grind Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
