Softball Recap: Valley Heights Comes Up Short

Valley Heights lost against Marysville on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs lost 12-2 to the Bulldogs. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Paige Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Krista Porter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Valley Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marysville, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Valley Heights will face off against Onaga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Marysville, they will take on Abilene at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
