Baseball Recap: New Ulm Wins Going Away Against St. Cloud Cathedral

While New Ulm didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders on Friday as they made off with a 10-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Dirk Haynes was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Kyle Albrecht was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: New Ulm kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

New Ulm's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for St. Cloud Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Ulm will host Hutchinson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Cloud Cathedral, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Detroit Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
