Softball Game Preview: Palmetto Mustangs vs. Southside Christian Sabres

The Palmetto Mustangs will face off against the Southside Christian Sabres at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmetto will be strutting in after a victory while Southside Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Palmetto turned things around against Woodruff on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 19, 2024.

Landry Woodson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

Woodson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palmetto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Southside Christian's offense. They came up short against Powdersville on Friday, falling 19-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Sabres' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southside Christian fell to 3-1. As for Palmetto, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
