Basketball Game Preview: Thomaston Bears vs. Morgan Huskies

The Thomaston Bears will square off against the Morgan Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Thomaston, who comes in off a win.

Thomaston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They took down Parish Hill 36-19. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Morgan suffered their closest loss since January 17th last Tuesday. They fell just short of Coginchaug Regional by a score of 45-43. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Thomaston will need to focus on slowing down Emma Teuner, one of several Morgan players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Teuner is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Passante, who posted 16 points along with six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Morgan was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their second loss (out of 18 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Thomaston, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
