Softball Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

Antioch lost against McGavock back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bears lost 10-3 to the Raiders. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chiari Batey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Antioch's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for McGavock, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch will square off against Stratford at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McGavock, they will challenge Hunters Lane at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Warriors will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's match.
