Volleyball Recap: Cassville Takes a Loss

Cassville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Shullsburg Miners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Shullsburg scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.

Brielle Fishnick paced Cassville's offense, picking up seven kills. Fishnick got some help from Jocelyn Adrian and her 12 assists. Molly Roe controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Isabelle Wiegel went supernova For Shullsburg., getting 21 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Wiegel has posted since back in October of 2024.

Cassville's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Shullsburg, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cassville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against River Ridge on the 18th. As for Shullsburg, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Highland on the 23rd.
