Basketball Recap: Sanger Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Sanger proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 28) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 victory over the Santa Paula Cardinals. Given the Apaches' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Cardinals are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sanger pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Santa Paula, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Sanger won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lemoore at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
