Pittsfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Franklin Tornadoes on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but Pittsfield sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Alex Penney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Penney has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Penney was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple and a run.
