Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Tigers vs. Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders
After a string of three wins, the Temple Christian Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 57-30 loss at the hands of Christ the Cornerstone Academy. If Temple Christian was looking for revenge after losing 69-47 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Leading Christ the Cornerstone Academy to victory were MICAH WYCKOFF and WILL JACKSON. WYCKOFF scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while JACKSON almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. WYCKOFF continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was DOMINIC GAGNON, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Temple Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. Cornerstone Christian Academy will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 589th in South Carolina, while the Defenders are ranked 292nd in North Carolina).
