Basketball Recap: River Takes a Loss

River and Bishop Rosecrans squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but River had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops, falling 60-37. The Pilots were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Bishop Rosecrans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kohen Harris, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the most boards Harris has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Boothe, who went 7-for-17 en route to 23 points.

River has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Bishop Rosecrans and bumps their season record up to 17-6.

River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they will take on Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Catholic Central has won five straight at home, while Bishop Rosecrans won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
