Basketball Recap: Shalhevet Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shalhevet can now relate to. They took a hard 67-51 fall against the Glendale Nitros on Wednesday. The Firehawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacob Samontina was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-15 on his way to 21 points for Glendale. Samontina is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Soliman, who posted 11 points.

Shalhevet's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Glendale, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Shalhevet does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glendale, they will take on Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Glendale's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
