Softball Recap: Hobgood Charter Triumphs

While Hobgood Charter's win against Cape Hatteras Secondary wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hurricanes 4-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Haleigh Eason made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Garner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Hobgood Charter's record now sits at 12-5. As for Cape Hatteras Secondary, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
