After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Silas, Toppenish was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-50 victory over the Hazen Highlanders. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Toppenish to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Cisneros, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Sanchez, who put up 14 points.

Toppenish now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Toppenish and Hazen could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Toppenish (ranked 190th) will meet Prosser (ranked 34th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Hazen (ranked 323rd) will meet Issaquah (ranked 153rd) at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
