            Baseball Recap: Leon Lions vs. Bainbridge Bearcats        
        
		
        
        
            After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Leon finally came back down to earth  on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bainbridge Bearcats by a score of  1-0. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in March of 2019.
 Hayden McNeill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Leon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Baker Safley, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double.

Leon moved to 13-8 with that  defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bainbridge, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-11.
 Leon has already played their next contest,  an  8-3  win against North Florida Christian on the 4th. As for Bainbridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  match,  a  6-2  loss against Valdosta on the 3rd.
