Basketball Recap: Dianely Granados' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Metro Tech over Carl Hayden Community

Metro Tech lost against Carl Hayden Community back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Metro Tech Knights fell 44-37 to the Carl Hayden Community Falcons.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dianely Granados, who posted six points along with 16 rebounds and three steals. Those 16 boards gave Granados a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mariah Price, who scored seven points and 15 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Metro Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carl Hayden Community only pulled down five offensive boards.

Carl Hayden Community's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bria Moultrie led the charge by putting up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillielani Lockett, who earned 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Metro Tech's loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Carl Hayden Community, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Metro Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-11 defeat against North on the 27th. Carl Hayden Community has also already played their next game, a 65-15 loss against McClintock on the 27th.
