Baseball Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Triumphs

Lee-Scott Academy won the last time they faced Beulah and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bobcats.

Braden Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Preston Huguley was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Owen, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lee-Scott Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Beulah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Lee-Scott Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
