Softball Recap: Legacy Charter Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Legacy Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Jones Fightin' Tigers 17-1 on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won three games by more than 14 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lindsay Donahey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Donahey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Stefanie Donahey was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Brooklynn Kowal was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Legacy Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Legacy Charter now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jones, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Legacy Charter will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. Legacy Charter's pitchers better be ready for this one: Trinity Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 13.4 runs per game this season. As for Jones, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-2 defeat against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 24th.
