Basketball Game Preview: Hephzibah Rebels vs. Academy of Richmond County Musketeers

The Hephzibah Rebels just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Academy of Richmond County will be up against a hot Hephzibah squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Hephzibah blew past Aquinas 59-37 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rebels have posted against the Fightin' Irish since December 18, 2021.

Meanwhile, Academy of Richmond County came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Raiders, posting a 62-24 victory. The Musketeers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Academy of Richmond County's win came from a few key players Hephzibah will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amari Butler, who posted 18 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. NaCja Johnson was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Hephzibah's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-16. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Academy of Richmond County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
