Soccer Game Preview: Gentry vs. Green Forest

The Gentry Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the Green Forest Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gentry's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Green Forest's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Gentry is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Berryville just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Bobcats could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result kept Gentry happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 10th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Green Forest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Prairie Grove on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Green Forest considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Gentry's draw makes their record 12-1-1 this season. As for Green Forest, their win bumped their record up to 5-10-2.

Gentry was able to grind out a solid victory over Green Forest when the teams last played on April 7th, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
