The Mariner Tritons will head out to face off against the South Fort Myers Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Mariner proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Fort Myers, sneaking past 4-3. While the Tritons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kelan Jamison was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Princeton (PJ) Marino, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, South Fort Myers came up short against Lemon Bay on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Fort Myers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Kircher, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

South Fort Myers now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mariner, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mariner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Fort Myers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Mariner took their victory against South Fort Myers in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mariner since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
