Recap: Navajo Prep Eagles vs. Draper APA Eagles
The Navajo Prep Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 56-48 to Draper APA.
Draper APA was led to victory by La'La Baldwin and Sammy Kartchner. Baldwin dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists, while Kartchner dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Baldwin has scored at least 25% of Draper APA's points. Another player making a difference was Camilla Olive, who scored four points along with three steals.
Navajo Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Draper APA, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Navajo Prep is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Orange Lutheran on December 20th. Orange Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 70th in California, while Navajo Prep is ranked 15th in New Mexico). Draper APA won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bush at 3:30 p.m. on December 19th.
