East made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Unionville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand the Longhorns a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Downingtown West fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Coatesville on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 5-3. The Whippets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Brett Connolly was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.

East's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Downingtown West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
