            Baseball Recap: Bergen Tech Knights vs. Clifton Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            While Bergen Tech put up plenty of  runs on Monday, the same  can't be said for Clifton. The Knights put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp  11-0 win. The Knights not only won  on Monday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 25th (when they won  19-2).

 Tiernan O'Rourke tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Bergen Tech is 3-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 7-12 otherwise.
 On the hitting side,  Josbaldy Santos and  Steve Choi did most of the damage at the plate:  Santos  went 1-for-3 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Choi  went 3-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  Choi has posted since back in May of 2024.  Joe D'Amico also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Bergen Tech is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clifton,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Bergen Tech will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
