Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calvary Christian Academy two weeks ago, Ridgeview came back down to earth. The Ridgeview Mustangs came up short against the Monticello Sages on Thursday, falling 78-52. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Sages: they've now lost five in a row.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Monticello, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Ridgeview and Tuscola will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tuscola knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Ridgeview likes a good challenge. As for Monticello, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monticello is facing Oakwood at the right time seeing as Oakwood is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
