The Palmetto Ridge Bears will venture away from home to take on the Gulf Coast Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmetto Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Palmetto Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Golden Gate a 19-0 shutout. The Bears not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22, 2024 (when they won 24-4).

Tessa Delashmet made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Karsyn Walters was a standout: she got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Delashmet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Palmetto Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .739. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Gate only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Gulf Coast earned an 8-3 win over Cypress Lake on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.
Like Palmetto Ridge, Gulf Coast also got a great game from a two-way player: Taylor Stalling. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Stalling was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nelinka Lambcke, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Hannah Rearden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Gulf Coast's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Palmetto Ridge, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Palmetto Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Gulf Coast struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palmetto Ridge suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Gulf Coast in their previous meeting on April 8th. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
