            Baseball Recap: Amherst Falcons vs. Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds        
        
		
        
        
            It was a Battle of the Birds when Amherst duked it out with Iola-Scandinavia on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  victory against them.
 Amherst let  Sully Perkins and  Ethan Peskie run wild. Perkins  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Peskie  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.  Michael Glodowski was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.

Amherst pushed their record up to 15-6 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Iola-Scandinavia, they moved to 8-7 with that  defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Amherst will  challenge  rival Manawa  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Iola-Scandinavia is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Wittenberg-Birnamwood  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
