Football Recap: Crestwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Wyoming Valley West last Friday, Crestwood came back down to earth. The Comets came up short against the North Pocono Trojans on Friday, falling 42-21. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Trojans are ranked 109th).

North Pocono's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Gray led the charge by rushing for 195 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Those 195 rushing yards gave Gray a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Maguire, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Crestwood now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Pocono, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Crestwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Pocono, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
