Juarez-Lincoln is 1-7 against Mission Veterans Memorial since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies will be playing at home against the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Juarez-Lincoln and five for Mission Veterans Memorial.
Juarez-Lincoln suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 94-18 loss at the hands of Nixon. While losing is never fun, Juarez-Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1561st, while Nixon is ranked 301st).
Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial came up short against Martin on Friday and fell 45-32.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Diego Serrano, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Tyler Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Juarez-Lincoln's defeat was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-24. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.1 points per game. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Juarez-Lincoln, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-39 loss to Mission Veterans Memorial when the teams last played back in November of 2023.
