Baseball Recap: Como Park Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Como Park took on Minneapolis South on Monday. The Cougars fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

John Corniea made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Joseph Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Como Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Minneapolis South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Como Park will take on Highland Park at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Scots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Minneapolis South, they will face off against Edison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
